A prayer written by David Holding in the passing of his own Dad, Kenneth Holding in the early 1990’s Also fitting for David Holding from his family in July 2020 Dear Lord, We bless you for our Dad. We thank you Father that you gave him your salvation and placed the love of Jesus within him. A love which shone forth like a beacon on a dark night to all he came into contact with and most of all to his family. To us Lord, there was not a man who measured up to him. He was so special Father God, you could not have given us better parents. Every moment in their presence was sheer pleasure. Father we realise that we are but travellers on the road to heaven. When Dad’s time came, you were swift to relieve his suffering and take him to yourself, because you are a faithful God who cannot fail. Dear Lord we will sing your praises for ever for taking him and giving us the certainty of life eternal through your supreme sacrifice on the cross. Amen
